can't tell you on the fetch. At the end all the bitbake controls are Python scripts. You might have a look in there & put some debug output messages to understand what happens in the fetch state.

Re: Intel NUC D54250WYKH not recognizing 2.5 SATA drive (Samsung M9T)

Is there an answer to this yet? I'm having a similar issue with mine using a Western Digital Red WD10JFCX drive.  I thought that maybe it was just the drive so I hooked a 500GB Seagate Momentus XT drive up to see what happens. Both drives seem to show up during boot every now and then, and sometimes they don't show at all. When they do show up and stick around for a while in windows (Win 7 64 bit), they just stop working and disappear after a while. If I hook these drives up to an external enclosure and plug them in via USB port, they seem to stay working.

This is very annoying. I've updated to the latest BIOS version to see if that would fix it, and it didn't.

Re: Intel 330 frequent "frozen" state message - but can access the drive(new, unpartitioned)

@joe_intel: Ok sir. I will try to install disgregarding "frozen" state shown by hdparm. Motherboard Intel DH67CL1 uses latest BIOS v160 from Intel site.  but, I have found a link which says Intel DH67BL/CL board keeps security freeze lock SSD drive each time UEFI/BIOS sees it. As per the below link, Intel has not yet released a bug fix BIOS release so as to fully enable SSD encryption etc. please go through below link: http://sstahlman.blogspot.in/2014/07/hardware-fde-with-intel-ssd-330-on.html I bought this board on 2012 july or so and it is in warranty. and I am no expert in modifying BIOS files as explained in above link. Can we expect a BIOS/UEFI release with more options so as to enable/disable Security freeze lock and such settings? I know this mainboard(DH67CL) is meant for average computer user who will not play with advanced BIOS settings. however, in circumstances like mine(SSD frozen), it will be great if we have an option to disable security lock. besides, this BIOS's UEFI mode is just a "enable/disable" option. some other options(access) is welcome. Thank you for the support.

This still happen to me, also.  The fact people read this post and Intel never responded since

And the warning and error still continue to show in the Event Viewer.

Thank you for the response.

Dear Intel,

I am a retired petroleum reservoir engineer  . . .   and after decades writing and running some of the most complex software imaginable,

I can verify that the last and least popular responsibility software developers get around to doing is   DOCUMENTATION.

It is time for Intel to take the time to properly document  XTU  Version: 5.1.0.23 (Latest)

It will save users from a hell of a lot of time screwing around with this software  . . .

Edison Mini-BreakOut Board Documentation Woes...

Firstly, love the Edison form factor and capabilities thus far... but I really hope to see the documentation improve so that a real community can for around this platform. On to my question(s).

Since I've struggled to get the information I need from the provided hw guide for the mini-breakout board I've compiled a few questions that I hope someone more knowledgeable than I can answer and have this serve as documentation for the next person:

1. What do the two LEDs on the mini-breakout board indicate?

2. Is the J21 header used for VIN? if so, which pin is positive

3. What is the J1 Jumper used for? clearing it seems to cause one of the LEDs to go out though I have no idea what that LED indicates.

4. What is the J2 jumper used for?

5. The documentation mentions the mini-breakout board as a Lipo charger but again, I couldn't find any documentation on where to connect a battery vs a charging source.

Sorry if some of these questions have obvious answers that I missed.

How can I manually unmark my RAID5 array as "rebuilding"? Intel X79/Asus P9X79 Deluxe

$

I have the exact same problem as was discussed in this thread: ICH10R - RAID 5 - Problem replacing failed drive

However, the array that is in "rebuild" mode is my Windows 7 boot volume, so I cannot access Intel's RSTe application.

My system:

Intel Core i7-3930K

Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboard

32GB (4 x 8GB) Mushkin DDR3-1866MHz

3 x 1TB WD RE4 7200rpm drives

I had one drive go bad, then rebuilt the array.  It stayed ok for a week or so, then dropped out of the array again.  I again attempted to rebuild the array, but the rebuild process was running overnight (which was all that was required the first time) and seemed to be stuck between 10 and 20 percent, so I shut the computer down (the temperature in my room was getting uncomfortable from leaving the computer on so long).  Anyway, when I booted the computer again, the drive still showed as bad, so I filled out an RMA with WD, grabbed the drive from my PC, and sent it in to be repaired/replaced.

Now that I have the replacement drive, I'm trying to boot into Windows, expecting the array to simply show as "Degraded", but it is marked as "Failed".  There is no option to mark anything as a spare in the boot options, only the options to create an array, delete an array, or mark drives as non-RAID.

Now, my guess is that some flag/bit is set in the raid configuration that marks the array as being in the process of a rebuild, and that if someone was brave enough, that bit/byte/sector could be unset somehow.  I would be comfortable attempting to do this, as I am fairly comfortable with Linux and the tools that can be used to do low-level writes to a drive.  I have Ubuntu set up on a solid state drive, which is what I've been using while waiting on my drive to come back from RMA.  I just need to know if an Intel engineer who is familiar with this motherboard RAID system could tell me what bits to twiddle to "turn off" the rebuild process.

Thanks,

Matt

Great work, just need a little help. When I get to the "scan on" bit nothing is displaying in here. I made the default-agent to NoInputNoOutput and KeyboardDisplay and both have no luck.

Is it possible to call fastDigitalWrite from a C program running in Linux

$

I would like to write a C/C++ program, which calls fastDigitalWrite(), and runs in linux on the Galileo rather than as an Arduino sketch.

Is this possible?

I have been able to write an Arduino sketch that calls this function successfully, and I have been able to cross-compile, install, and run a separate program in Linux on the Galileo.

Now, I'd like to have the cross-compiled linux program make this call directly.

According to the output of lsusb, maybe i have to add the card-reader's driver package?  The ACR122U card reader driver package need the pcsc-lite and libusb to be successfully compiled.

Any suggestions?

How do I capture mouse events on Galileo Gen 2?

I've been trying to capture and log mouse events with the MouseController library, but failed miserably. Is there another library that can be used to listen on the USB Host on the Galileo Gen 2?

Thanks!

Re: Suitable SD voltage level translators?

$

faceplant - that link does not seem to work.

As far as I can tell, the TXB0108 is not well suited to SD card level translation. SD cards have an internal 10K to 100K pullup on the DAT3 pin, and external pullups (in the same range) are recommended on the other data pins. The TXB0108 can handle 50K or higher pullups; lower resistances will overpower its output drivers and cause problems.

The TXS0108E (as mentioned above) is designed to handle this, and can manage 60Mbps throughput when doing 1.8V to 3.3V.

As you've said, handling the high-speed modes doesn't look easy. If that's all done in hardware then it's probably not possible (because there's no way to tell when the hardware has switched modes, and without that you can't change the voltage). I'm just going to live with the lower-speed modes for now; they'll probably still be faster than most SD cards can write, and 99% of the time I'll be using the internal flash anyway.

Joe,

I had shorted the red pins, but it did not have any effect. The power button still do not turn on. Is there anything else I could try?

Rajesh
