I have this same issue with a D24010WYK. It happens (not all the time) with one of the following situations:
- Waking monitor from sleep (not the system, just waking a "blanked" monitor that has been blanked for several minutes.)
- Changing resolutions in Win 8.1 monitor settings.
I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit with the latest video drivers (10.18.10.3345) 11/21/2013. I've had the issue when using a mini HDMI to standard HDMI cable (no adapter) and with a mini DP to full HDMI adapter. I have had the issue with 2 different monitors.
I do not have a video of the issue, but just picture an old TV with no signal to it. Call it what you will, snow, noise, pink noise, etc. (https://www.google.com/search?q=tv+snow&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=9wE&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=fMatUufVJfPnsATizYLQCg&ved=0CCkQsAQ&biw=1600&bih=752) It will show the noise for a few seconds and then blank for a few seconds and then back to the snow. It will never sync back to the true video signal. The only temporary fix I've found is to unplug the video cable and plug it back in. This will restore the video image.
Again this has been observed via HDMI and mini DP port to 2 different monitors with two different cables.
