gI decided to purchase a D-link Mainstage TV Adaptor for WiDi after some digging on Intel website. Based on the information I gather for Intel's website and internet, I have firm reason to believe that the Acer R7 is WiDi capable.
For example, as you can see from the following snapshot, I clicked the link "Buy a PC with Intel Widi", then get redirected to Bestbuy website.
On Bestbuy website, I choosed to sort by price high to low, and Acer R7 showed on page 6 as following snapshot:
Other than the above, the following snapshot from Bestbuy also gave me more confidence to invest my money into this technology:
So I guess I'm not asking too much for the kind of laptop in my hands.
After ran into trouble with the WiDi software installation, I went through many postings on support community and did all the efforts possible including updated my graphics dirver to the latest version, installed PROSet/Wireless, even installed my wifi Dashboard. Nothing helped and I still get this:
As far as I can tell, this is very common after Intel's WiDi software update. By posting the trouble I have here, hope the expert from Intel can help me to confirm the following:
1. Is Acer R7 WiDi capable?
2. If not, why misleading in marketing?
3. If yes, why the software couldn't be installed?
4. When this software problem can be fixed?
Thanks a lot.
