Your problem is not the Intel RAID driver, but the Intel RAID OROM version, which is within your mainboard BIOS. Only Intel RAID OROMs from v10.5 up are able to manage Intel RAID arrays with a size of more than 2 TB.
You need to flash an updated mainboard BIOS, which contains a more actual Intel RAID ROM version (v10.5 or higher). If you don't get such BIOS from your mainboard manufacturer, you can update the Intel RAID ROM version by your own. You can find a guide at win-raid.com.
