I am currently having problems with Intel Widi...I am trying to pair my TV with my laptop
TV : Sony Bravia KDL32W650A
Laptop: ASUS Taichi21
Intel HD 4000 (9.17.10.2963)
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (15.10.3.2)
i5-3317U
I have tried updating my graphics drivers using Windows Update (9.17.10.2963) and those didn't work, I also tried the stock ASUS drivers (9.17.10.2857) for the graphics drivers as well, and no luck using the charms bar nor the Intel WIDI Application.
I have also tried using different versions of the Intel WIDI Application first trying the ASUS stock supplied application which was VersionV3.5.41.0, and no luck. It blocked me saying that I needed to have the latest drivers installed which I did have.
Next I used the advice on the forums and still no luck. I have tried using different versions of the Intel WIDI Application which were 3.5.34.0 and 4.1.19.0. The first had no ability to turn on the WIDI adapter, the second got further but it was not able to connect to the TV at all. It finds the TV in the listed adapters, but does not connect at all. It returns with the error "Error communicating with the device, please try restarting the application, if that at does not work try resetting the adapter and the receiver".
The TV shows up fine on the devices menu under Windows 8.1 Devices menu under Settings, but it only shows up as a play Device.
I really want this to work so that I can mirror my whole desktop to my TV, not just the media files.
I am not looking forward to formatting back to Windows 8 so I am trying everything possible first.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
